Hiking in the Bergisches Land

What’s better than a hike? Several hikes, of course! Our beautiful Bergisches Land region offers two certified long-distance hiking trails, the ‘Bergischer Weg’ and the ‘Bergischer Panoramasteig’, the stages of which can be hiked individually or in one go. In addition, the ‘Bergischer Streifzüge’, which are mostly circular routes of between 4 and 16 kilometres, offer a welcome alternative for getting to know the region on foot. Example: The Fire & Flame Trail around Bergneustadt. You can find detailed information here

Whether mountain bike, trekking bike or e-bike ...

Cycling through the Bergisches Land

The Bergisches Land and our Bergneustadt are – as the name suggests – more mountainous than flat. Travelling here by bike therefore means tackling the odd incline or two. But you can always get down. Our beautiful hills and mountains, which are sought after by mountain bikers, are popular for rides over hill and dale.

E-bikes are more comfortable and there are numerous signposted routes. We will be happy to provide you with the addresses of the local bike hire stations and tips for the most beautiful cycle routes, for example to the Aggertalsperre reservoir, along the avenue cycle path from Dieringhausen to Olpe or along the Bergisch Panorama Cycle Path, which are former railway lines with few inclines.

Motorbike tours in the Bergisches Land

As soon as the weather allows it, the sun is shining and the temperatures really turn up, the bikers are out on their laps through the Bergisches Land again. You can hear and see them cruising around Bergneustadt, where the most beautiful winding roads run through forests and meadows, over hills and through narrow valleys. The landlord, Axel Tomasetti, is an enthusiastic motorcyclist himself. As soon as his time allows, he also uses his home region for relaxed tours through the countryside and is sure to have a few route tips in store for you.
